Hi everyone! My name is Liew Swee Ying(1081108453). I am taking Environmental Design this semester. Again, this blog will for academic purpose. Well that is the main reason this blog is created.

Environmental design will be the main topic for this blog now. Does it sounds boring? I will try be best to make this blog interesting. Three fix topic will be given by our lecturer to blog. Other than that, I will share some of my assignment in the blog and also topic like ancient architectural, gaming and even manga(comic)! But it's all about the topic.

Masuri Proposal

We should start our preparation of the coming presentation of this subject. So I prepared a proposal for this assignment. Everything I mention here are just suggestions, so if there are any suggestions we will bring it to the discussion after we came back to school.

· Short script for the 5-10 mins presentation (another 5 mins for set up).

· Including simple dialogue and narration.

3. Stage Director – Jen

· Including props. (Weapons…)

· Background – we might not need it but here is a suggestion that we can put photos of the background on the screen using OHP. Well is a cheap, easy, and efficient way.

4. Sound & Music - Swee Ying

5. Costume & Make up - ??

· We need some Malay clothes for the important character. (baju kebaya, scarf, and so on)

Everybody should help if we are going to make the props by ourselves. Those who are not acting are going to help for the setting of the stage. We MUST have a full run through and everyone must clear about the whole run through to avoid chaos or confusion during the performance.

Idea and development

Design description

In order to show the relation between creative multimedia and advertisements, we have decided to come out with poster. The style that we are going to use is collage and grunge looking.

We found some pictures from the Internet, for example, posters, computer, highway, buildings and so on. We modified them using Adobe Photoshop to turn them into black and white. We cutout the parts that are needed and combined them into one pieces.

Description for the elements used:

Mouse- an important tool in creating an advertisement

Computer- Without a computer, we will not be able to create those creative advertisements

Builidings- represent cities that can't escape from the influences of advertisements.

Posters- the poster that we used are HOPE-Obama during his election for becoming the President of United States, AVATAR- movie by James Cameron, MILO-a famous drink in Malaysia. The varieties of posters show that advertisements have their own value in different field.

Highway-represent the billboards where we can find them along the highway.

Newspaper cutout-represent the advertisement can be found in newspaper as well.

Color studies

Black and white VS Colored

The main objects are turned into black and white, while the background remains colored. This is because we want to show contrast and represent that advertisements are changing from black and white to color as well.
